Block Building Therapies offers a post-COVID 19 (Long COVID) program in a one-on-one setting. The first phase of the program (5 weeks) will focus on an introduction to Long COVID, managing common symptoms, the psychological and emotional impacts and navigating healthcare and long term supports. Participants will be provided with materials and additional readings to take home to support the in-clinic program. Participants will gain an understanding of their medical condition, feel empowered with practical strategies for managing physical, cognitive and psychological symptoms and how to safely increase their activity level as appropriate.
The second phase of the program focuses more specifically on individualized rehabilitation, including:
- Daily activity planning
- Nervous system regulation
- Cognitive rehabilitation
- Graded approach to increase activity
- Return to work planning
Participants who demonstrate improved symptom management by implementing the strategies and tools learned in phase one of the program are projected to be successful in increasing their activity tolerance and returning to previous occupations.
The treating Occupational Therapist will complete a progress report after completion of phase one to provide recommendations to the funder or medical team.
